Prema Nair is a detail-oriented certified public accountant with 20 years of experience. Her areas of specialization include working in all areas of tax, book-keeping, payroll and accounting across a broad cross-section of clients including high net worth individuals and SMB businesses.

After completing her Masters in Commerce from the University of Bombay, she moved to the United States in the late 90’s. Prema completed her CPA in 2000 and started her consulting career working for the CFO’s Office at the DC Public Schools. Thereafter she worked at multiple CPA firms performing tax accounting and audit defense procedures for individual clients and small- and medium-sized businesses. This varied experience has helped her develop exceptional analytical skills, with the ability to examine and understand business needs and deliver comprehensive, actionable reports while exceeding stringent expectations. She has also worked with key clients developing their tax strategies and ensured that companies were defended against audits and other risks. Throughout her career, Prema has believed excellent client service is paramount and looks forward to applying that practice to KFA’s clients.
 
Prema has lived in the DC Metropolitan area for the last 22 years. She takes an active role in the community and has held current and previous board of director and treasurer positions over a variety of organizations. She has also been a Sunday School teacher for elementary school kids for more than 10+ years. She lives in Vienna, Virginia. Prema enjoys traveling the world with her husband and their two kids. Although covid has slowed down her chase to experience new cultures, she fully plans to resume with an African safari next on her list.
